really old Tein basic coilovers

is anyone using a set? i have a set im using on my fc and i have to use spacers up front for them to clear. after looking around and comparing i think the reason why the fitment is so close is because of where they bolt up to the knuckle.

and here is im assuming a new model?;



see the differnce in the gap between bolt hole and strut?
