1974 repu motor

I thought this would be a good place to post this. I ran into a local rotary guy and he said I should post up about my set up to see what it was worth. I have a 1983 rx7 with a street ported 74 repu motor in it. I guess its a pretty old school set up. It has dual webbers on it. I went to check the numbers on them and they are 36dcd7. The motor runs very strong in my 1st gen. I ran an 8.9 1/8th mile at 77mph with street tires on a hot sticky night. It had the stock 3.91 gears at that time.

My friend said that since my set up is rare and runs so good, It might be worth a pretty penny to an enthusiast. Possibly enough to finance a turbo build. I dont know what its worth, thought it would be nice to share what I have with some old school people. Any info is appriciated.

The motor isn't worth more than any other pre-'86 4-port 13B, and generally less than a TII engine. But it's a good ported 13B, so you could probably get some good dough for it.

As for the dual DCD setup, well, it's not worth anything at all. They suck and no one wants them. You'd better send it to me so I can... er, properly dispose of it for you.

Seriously, though, yeah, they're pretty desirable.

Be jeallous all...... I just found a gold mine of parts on a 1st gen. I picked up an 81 12a car with the identical carb set up I have. Now I have a spare! The car runs great and I picked it up for $900. No rust and very solid.

It just says you have a REPU engine. 12arotary is referring to an actual REPU. I've got a '74. It needs serious work, though.

Got it now, sorry I missed that one guys........lol I actually know a guy here in Omaha that has two of them. I think he has a 74 with a hayes motor in it, and he also has a 76 I believe? What ever the last year is where they made the cab like 6 inches longer. He has both trucks up in washington right now. Some guy up there is supposed to be swapping everything over to the 76. He wanted the extra leg room since he is over 6'.

'77s had the extended cab. A guy on my block has a '77 with a supercharged S5 TII engine.
