If the rig holds, is not seen, and doesn't rattle or interfere with the operation of opening the door then I vote for the bolt rig. But i'm not entirely sure how the bolt helps either, hard for me to imagine without it all in my hands seeing the actual operation.

I can't post a pic like photobucket because I'm at work, but I adjusted the other pic a bit.
Basically, the yellow arrow is indicating how the bar comes down and opens the door. By putting a bolt where the red arrow is pointing to, it would make contact sooner. Which makes me wonder why there is so much play to begin with, AND how this problem just came from nowhere. |
