I've made it to every event... car trouble or not... in an RX-7 and not... and will come as long as the event holds on to the essence it has now of a big extended, event filled car show with people that I've known and been around for years. It isn't an event put on to make tons of money but an event put on because you/we want to hold on to what we enjoy and keep to this community around. I'll be there as long as I feel welcome and as long as it's fun.

... and I have the shirts to prove it, lol

Year 1: GTUs overheated on the gap, block seal and necessity got it home.
Year 2: GTUs overheated on the way to the gap. parked conveniently at djmtsu's in-laws in Chattanooga, rode with caravaners. The 7 made the trip back to nashville on the return.
Year 3: No 7. Bummed my way from car to car and getting to ride in SPOauto's sweet RX-3.
Year 4: GTUs 6p-T made it back in one piece.
Year 5: No 7. Drove djmtsu's miata.

Year 6: "Hopefully" my 90 black turbo vert, otherwise I'll be in a Mazda 6.

I unfortunately missed the first year. I just could not get off work (still pissed).

I go because it is great to see all the awesome cars, drive the best road in the USA, and hang out with like minded people.

Last year was the only year my FC didn't make it. I am pretty sure that even if I were to be in a situation where I didn't even have an RX-7, RX-8, or other Mazda car, I would STILL go.

It means that much every year.

Everyone one but the first one. I'll keep going as long as the event is held. This is the one thing I look forward to each year! Last year I almost lost my my job because of this event (I asked off and my boss didn't think it was a legitimate excuse to skip work) and I went anyways. I wont miss this for a DAMN thing. Keep up the good work Phil! We really appreciate your dedication! This year will be a blast! I only hope to cruise through this year on the RE5! See all you guys there!

I have been there all 5 years and I will be attending this year too. I love driving U.S.129 and the Tail of the Dragon in a rotary. I have only been there one year without a rotary, but I made it anyway, as I wouldn't want to miss the socializing with the great rotorheads I have met over the years. Awesome event Phil, I'm so glad you had the vision to do this year after year.

I kind of ruled out going to this because my 7 will not likely be in running condition soon enough, but seeing the responses of so many who went in a non-rotary is making me reconsider.

Hells yeah!

Last year Fero313 was driving my Miata, and I was in my FC. Outside Chattanooga I lost an injector, and had to leave it at my in-laws house. We squeezed everything into the Miata and continued on!

That is the rotary way!!

I didn't make it to the first, but every year since. I'll keep going as long as the event is going and I have a rotary. It's one of the high points of the year. Great cars and people.
