1985 GSL-SE. New Motor. Lots of Parts. SC $2000
Year: 1985
Make: Mazda Model: RX-7 Price: $2000 Mileage: 405000 Color: Red Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing Location (US State/Canada/Int): SC This is a hard post but it's finally come time for me to let go of my 7. I need the space in my garage for my other project and I need to peace of mind of not having to choose between the two. The Good The interior is in fantastic shape. All carpet is clean and stain free. The seats are in fantastic shape. I just replaced the motor with one built with NOS rotor housings. It's got about 5 miles on it so far. Just got it started and drove around the block a few times. (I got these from the previous owner who practically bought out the parts department of an old mazda dealership.) Boiled and recoated the inside of the gas tank last year. Stainless steel oil cooler lines RB Cat Delete Pipe Fresh Transmission and Differential Fluid GM 105A Alternator The Bad The Paint is faded and the clear is bubbling in a few places. The starter just failed on it. I have several replacements and haven't had the time to get it off the ground to replace it The driver's side window motor isn't getting power It's leaking coolant from somewhere I haven't tracked down yet. AC Compressor locked up on it, so I bought a replacement but haven't yet had time to install it. Also Comes with: 2 extra sets of wheels. (1 GSL-SE set and 1 4 lug FC set) 2 extra doors (white) a set of LE seats 3 starter motors reman AC Compressor a large assortment of various trim pieces assorted NOS items various other parts that I can't recall at the moment. (My basement is full of them.) Pictures |

Yeah. It was the original motor we pulled. I was really impressed it still ran after we tore it down and found this.

The only electrical parts that don't work right now aside from the driver's window is the rear wiper and the switch for the power mirrors. I've got a replacement switch but haven't been able to figure out how to get the old one out.
I've tested the rear wiper and it's getting power, but the motor itself is burned out. I believe I have a replacement motor in storage with all the other parts I have. Both headlight motors work fine. The radio works. The rear defroster works. The front wipers work fine but they could probably use new blades. All of the interior and exterior lights are working properly. The cruise was working before we swapped the motor. I haven't taken it out on the highway to test it since. |
