My RHD FC Build

Finally I got a RHD FC after the long search i picked up a 87 rolling chassis. Car came with a few extra goodies that I did and didn't know about. Some good some bad. However it wouldn't be a project otherwise, am I right. For the most part right now I will just be cleaning it up. The dirt from sitting, the grease and oil from the motor, trans and other area that would've leaked. Then replacing worn parts. So I will keep this updated as I go.

Anyway some of the goodies that came with the car are:
JDM FTPS
After market pedals that say RX-7
PROJECT MU pads
Cusco Brake Booster Bracket
JDM H4 housings w/ bulbs
S5 moldings (most of them)

Some of the bads:
missing some engine bay parts (besides the motor and trans)
found some minor body damage under the driverside headlight
Driverside mirror hook broken off
I believe thats it for now

It keeps the brake master from shifting during driving I test fit it tonight just to see how it fit I'll post pics of it tomorrow. I know it doesn't fit on the US car so I've never really seen one in action (so to speak).

I have no idea but since there no real modifying to do for it, I'm not super concerned at the moment if it will dramaticly make a difference. I'll just have to wait and see if it does anything once the car is up and going then I'll be able to give an answer to that. For the present it has that "oh it's shiny." quality.

Nice find.

The MC bracket is a useful one if you plan to drive the car hard, have upgraded brakes and really want to add everything you can to the braking system to make its "feel" and responsiveness top notch.

I plan on adding one to my FC as well. Its not that you can actually see the MC move, but remember, its simple physics, you push on the brake which moves the arm and the fluid pushes back. If you have air in the lines, it gets spongey because it compresses the air... the bracket is similar in that it reduces how much "give" will be in the MC. Should make the initial brake depression more responsive... wont do anything for actual brake fade, etc though, lol...

Keep us posted...

Ok had the opportunity to do some more on the car and found a few not so fun things that need to be done. One I'm actually selling off the hood that is on the car and replacing it with the aluminum one off of my other FC. Finally getting that reverse vent I wanted. However I'm doing the S5 swap to the car and in order to do that I have to pull the old bumper and all. Easy right, wrong...every bolt I came across was completely overtaken by rust. Most sheered off others had to be grinded, some you couldn't even tell were bolts in the first place. So I decided to replace all the bolts with either new ones (if I can find them and I like them) or just using ones I can get from the junk yard. I'll take pictures when I get a moment. The second thing I came across was that one of the wheels wasn't straight when the steering wheel was completely straight. Turns out that the tie rod on the passenger side (driver to the US car) is damage so the wheel is out of alignment and out of place. Also it's missing the bracket for the sway bar so I have to find one of those as well.

see if a local performance shop has any importer vendors or junkyard vendors overseas, they might be able to locate that part for you.
