okay, i can't decide on a wheel for the FB

Alright here is the deal. I need to decided on the wheels for the FB. But im not sure which route to take. I need 15" or larger due to the RE speed big brake kit. I currently have 5 lug hubs, but i could easily get the 4 lug hubs and figure out how to convert the rotors via drilling, hopefully with out messing them up. I also need lower offset to clear. Stock Rx7 wheels are off by quite a bit. Problem is there are few good 15" low offset wheel choices.

But i am stuck between the following:

1. Sportmax 002 in 15x8 with 4 lug or go 16x8 in 5 lug with the 3.5" lip
2. Sportmax 512 in 16x8 with 3.5" lip only
3. Find another two 15x8.5 Prime wheels (shown below)
4. Attempt to spend the ridiculous amout of money on the SSR MKII wheels in 4 lug(i love this wheel)

there is another option of a nice set of old volk mesh wheels in 15x7 / 15X6.5 in the 5 lug pattern. If i can go that route, i think i will. If not, refer to above.

As far as the Sportmax wheels, I bought a set of them about 8 months ago for my daily driver Civic. Left them on all winter (admittedly not the best idea) but we have had very little snow here this year, therefore not much road salt. Nonetheless, the clearcoated outer rim area on all 4 wheels is now badly corroded, and even before winter had started I was noticing several spots where the clear had peeled off. Great looking wheel, but they don't appear to have a very durable finish. FWIW.

P.S. If you do go with the Sportmax wheels, be sure to buy a supply of the fake rivet head thingies. I've lost two so far in eight months.

A local guy here in TN has a set of 15x6.5/7 staggered set of Reverse Meshies...

Personally I think the price is a little high but...

yea those are a bit out of what i want to pay. I think im going with the Sportmax for some "for now" wheels and daily abuse. Ill eventually find something a bit nicer. But i swear, 5x114.3 is a hard size to please.

5x114.3? Isn't that what the FDs run? Those are kinda common actually. You mean 4x114.3? Or aren't the non-GSL-SE setups 4x110? I'm gonna run into this problem myself eventually, I'll just copy you. HAHA

i have the RE SPeed kit up front running the FC hubs and brakes. The rear is the GSLSE axle. So i have 5x114.3 in front and 4x114.3 in rear. I was noting how there are not a lot of old school style 15" wheels with a low offset in 5x114.3

Oh alright, gotcha. Man, now that I see those other two wheels, that's a tough call, they're all cool as shit haha. Hmmm...

Actually, I think it would be more of a problem trying to find a wheel with the two different lug patterns haha.

I'll probably be doing the same when the time comes, but 5-lug front and back since I don't have a GSL-SE. What flares are you going to use?

classicdatsun.com 240z flares. I guess the guy has sold more to Rx7 owners than datsun owners. Might be doing the flares this weekend.
