Quarter/wing window installation
What kind of goo does one use to re-install these windows? Just painted the 7 and need to put them back in. Having a pro come out and do the windshield (the old one was cracked anyways.) But I thought I'd save a few bucks and do the side ones myself.
Thanks -Paul |

Need to use windshield urethane. Just have him do it while he's there.
Make sure to prime both surfaces with the appropriate activators for the urethane he's using!! |

Talked to my window guy, he said the primer will eat the black painting on the quarter window. With fresh paint and everything cleaned I just glued them in.
It's raining now so I could test for leaks, but I want to get a few pictures of the car while it's still clean. It's only going to be this clean once! |

Any windshield sealant will work. RTV will work. I have used soap and water, mineral spirits (which is the recommended cleaner), alcohol, even carb or brake clean to clean them. All worked.
If you have someone that installs windshields for a living, go with his recommendation. With the carb cleaner spray it was first put on a rag then used as a wipe, do not soak. Any good soap and water will work too. On the RX7UP I used some double sided tape. One side worked all right the other not so much. (was some old stuff I had laying around) Probably didn't clean it well enough because I was in a hurry or that part of the roll the sticky had dried up. So I now have an interesting vibration noise. Not too concerned because all the glass wiil be removed from the rear eventually. |

I used the 3M Windshield Fast Bond stuff. I cleaned the surfaces with wax/grease remover. Then wiped with a clean terry cloth. Should be good!
