Also, a good tip when trying to strip a panel:

Take some rough paper (40grit) or an old piece of grinding disc (~26 grit) and scuff the whole surface up qiuckly. You don't want to sand it all, just cut through to the metal is a few areas to allow the stripper to more easily "bite" under the paint. It will also make it easier to scrape off afterwars since you can start from a scratch where the stripper has cleaned it to metal....
