and "the club" lost another one

Hey all, to bad greed overtook common sense over there.

I bought my first 7(an86 GXL) in Dec. 2004. My second (an 88 T2) in July of 2006.

Sold the first to a local rotor head like myself. Winter in Detroit an 7s don't mix thanks to all the salt put down so my T2 winters in my cold ass detached garage. I finally got enough BTUs in one burner that is fan driven so it was a little easier this last winter. I'm in the process of breaking in a Rotary Resurrection rebuild that runs great and has from the very first time I lit her up.
Racing Beat Turbo Back Exhaust
Cone Intake
Koyo Rad with e-fan
Converted to true manual steer
A/C works fine
S5 BNR Stage 2 Hybrid
Used but Excellent condition S5 Housings
3mm Mazda apex seals and springs
New rear iron (thanks to Ray Crowe) which comes with the strongest reinforcements at the weak point around the dowel under the oil filter.
RTek 1.8
RC Engineering 750cc all around.
Walbro Fuel Pump

With just the injectors, Walbro Fuel Pump, RTek1.8, and Racing Beat exhaust
Best 1/4 mile 12.8 sec 109mph. this was before the winter rebuild, three dyno pulls showed 275RWHP consistently and that was after cracking or chipping seals.

Welcome! Nice setup, almost like mine.

How much do the 750cc flow? I'm thinking of doing first gen primaries instead of 750s.

What boost were you running when you made 275whp.

As I bought the injectors new from RC Engineering. they are disc type injectors.
They claim 750cc but I have seen post claiming RC promotes them as 750s but the actually flow a little close to to 720 though I have nothing to confirm this.
The RTek 1.8 is set up for 720s all around but you don't have the ability to tune any of the settings. You must run at least 720cc all around.

1st gen primaries are claimed on the forums to be 720s but really only flow any where from 696up to as much as 725.
If I were to do this over again I would not change a thing. It is VERY important to run 720cc injectors with the RTek 1.8 or you will run the risk of going lean.

I run the factory TMIC and at 10 to 12 psi the wide band (I have an Innovate wide band to the meter on the A-pillar) it ran the exact same reading as the dyno's wideband.

I broke the engine trying to get just one last run inI new I needed gas cause it was low but made the run anyway. The pump sucked air and the engine stumbled. Just as I was letting off the throttle that was the end of my year.

I'm just getting ready to do the 500 mile oil change today. Once broken in at about 2000 miles I have a Megasquirt 1 . and Megasquirt 2 sitting on my desk I'll start with the M2 if possible.

Then a road trip to a dyno day somewhere in Ohio or Indiana. Funny but for some reason Rotary and Detroit mix like oil and water Just not many of us around but enough for getting together once in a while to shoot the shit, get a bite to eat or just go for a cruise.

You should consider going to Ontario to get your car undercoated to survive the winters.

Stored during all winter months and already undercoated.

No rust to be found.

I found mine on "the other clubs" for sale section. Don't get in a hurry to buy one, research the car on car fax, go look at under, around and through any possible cars close enough to see yourself.
I bought mine sight unseen through two weeks of e-mails and phone calls. Then flew to Milwaukee paid for it got the paperwork and took the High Speed Ferry back to Michigan then drove three and a half hours home starting that drive around midnight.
Bottom line is I paid book (Kelly Blue Book) which at that time was $6400.
I wanted an unmolested T2 that I could upgrade myself. The only thing this guy had done was removed the air pump due to it failing and replaced the original clutch with an ACT six puck unsprung clutch. The darn thing was really harsh on engagement around town. I replaced it with a Centerforce Dual Friction sprung plate and pressure plate, much better feel now. We will see how it stands up once we get the engine broken in.

Including the purchase price I stopped counting at roughly $11,000.
I enjoy driving it though and my ol lady has been very tolerant thank god.
